Remembrance for Those We Have Lost
February 28, 2021 | 3pm
In honor of the many we have lost the year, the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum will be participating in city wide memorial.

The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum will be participating in a city wide memorial service organized by the City of Austin in collaboration with UT, ACC, Interfaith Action of Austin, and several nonprofits on Feb. 28th. On this day we hold space to remember those we have lost to COVID-19, those we have lost during COVID-19, and those lost in the storm.
We ask everyone in the City to create a memorial sound at 3pm using bells, gongs, or sound makers. The service is secular and non-secular and will last about an hour. The event will be live streamed on YouTube Live

National Day of Mourning
March 1, 2021 | 11am - 2pm
In recognition of National Day of Mourning for COVID-19, the UMLAUF will host a memorial in honor of the many lives lost in our community.
In recognition of the National Day of Mourning, Floral Heart Project in conjunction with Marked by COVID will lay a floral wreath on March 1, 2021 at 11am at the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum in memory of all those lost to COVID-19. Admission will be waived from 11am - 2pm that day. We invite the community to join this memorial in sympathy and love for all those who are suffering.
The Floral Heart Project is an ongoing effort by artist Kristina Libby to help provide healing, compassion and sympathy for those impacted by COVID-19. Her contribution has been to create visualizations of those we have lost and hold vigils and ritual ceremonies for those suffering. These COVID-19 floral memorials honoring those lost have made their way nationwide, and are supported by both 1-800-Flowers and BloomStudios and by hundreds of volunteers. Marcy Comer reached out to the Floral Heart Project to bring the initiative to Austin, TX.
The UMLAUF is honored to be a place for quiet contemplation for our community on this day.
