Rebuffed: Reconceiving Failure
Through January 2023
Featuring two major Umlauf commissions that were rejected by their donors, only to be later reimagined by the artist. Rebuffed helps us all—kids, adults, anyone in the workforce—learn how to respond to failure and get back on our feet, taking cues from Austin’s own Charles Umlauf.
Through Spring 2023
The UMLAUF and AIA Austin are proud to collaborate once again on the annual exhibition Design Shine! Come experience the new additions to the garden from emerging talent in the fields of architecture and design.
Apropos is an invitational group show, where the participants will be ask to respond to the previous show and content of Umlauf's “rebuffed" works.

Luis Jiménez: Retrospective
The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum will organize the first-ever Luis Jiménez retrospective. Luis Jiménez (1940-2006) was one of the most visionary, celebrated, and controversial American artists of the 20th century. Famous for his monumental polychrome fiberglass sculptures, he blended Chicano working class sensibilities with acute sociopolitical awareness.
