Featuring two major Umlauf commissions that were rejected by their donors, only to be later reimagined by the artist. Rebuffed helps us all—kids, adults, anyone in the workforce—learn how to respond to failure and get back on our feet, taking cues from Austin’s own Charles Umlauf.

Luis Jiménez: Retrospective

The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum will organize the first-ever Luis Jiménez retrospective. Luis Jiménez (1940-2006) was one of the most visionary, celebrated, and controversial American artists of the 20th century. Famous for his monumental polychrome fiberglass sculptures, he blended Chicano working class sensibilities with acute sociopolitical awareness.
