From Loop 1 (Mopac):

Exit at Zilker Park/2244/Bee Caves Road.
If you were going North on Mopac, stay on the frontage road as it meanders and becomes Barton Springs Road.
If you were going South on Mopac, go to the left of the frontage road, and make a U-turn under the freeway. Stay on the frontage road, as it meanders and becomes Barton Springs Road.
Turn Right on Robert E. Lee
The museum is located on the left. Enter through the second gate.

From I-35:

Exit Riverside Drive and go West (towards town)
Turn Left on Barton Springs Road
Go past Lamar Boulevard
Turn Left on Robert E. Lee
The museum is located on the left. Enter through the second gate.

Bus Route 470

Capital Metro has unveiled a new weekend bus route providing passengers a safe, easy way to travel between Austin's many cultural, historic and outdoor attractions.

Route 470, also known as "Tour the Town," will run every 45 minutes on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The route starts at the LBJ Library on the University of Texas campus, winds through UT, past the Capitol, and through downtown. It then crosses Congress Avenue into South Austin, down Barton Springs Road to Mopac and Bee Caves, where it loops back to UT.

Museums along Tour the Town include the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, Austin Museum of Art, Austin Children's Museum, and, of course, Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. In fact, during regular museum hours between 1:00pm and 4:30pm, the Northbound route will drop visitors right at the USG&M parking lot.

One-way fare for Tour the Town is $0.50 per passenger, or $5.00 for a booklet of 20 one-way tickets.
