The Process
Step Seven
Putting it all together
The PowerPoint presentation will tell your community a great deal about your idea. But if you really want to get their attention, you should to give them something three-dimensional that conveys your idea. On page 5 of the Charles Umlauf Spirit of Flight Proposal you can see a model that Umlauf created to help the judges of the public art competition visualize his idea. Have a look at slides 15-21 of the LeggeLewisLegge Elevated Prairie Proposal and you will see how the artists created a sample of the construction they were proposing for the public artwork. For example, if you are proposing a bas relief tile mural for above your school lockers you might consider creating a sample tile for your presentation as well as a miniature representation for the scale model you created in Step Four. Your facilitator can assist you in choosing the most appropriate materials for your scale model and assist you in creating any samples you need.
Possible materials include: matboard, clay, plaster, wire and balsa wood. Your choice of materials depends on your idea and the scale of your model.
When you have completed your PowerPoint presentation, scale model and any samples that you want to display with your proposal, you are ready to move on to Step Eight.
