Scale model for piece 1.5 times this size, originally intended to go in the middle of a fountain at St. Michael's Academy, Austin. Umlauf purposefully gave Lucifer, or Evil, a young, attractive face to show the schoolchildren how appealing evil can be.

Visual Description: St. Michael and Lucifer Bronze Depicts two winged men in combat. Youthful and slender Michael is poised, spear in hand, above Lucifer. Both men are about 3 feet tall. Michael, with cape, kilt and boots has 2 feet long wings that grow from his shoulder blades. He's holding a very sharp sword, and a long spear. Lucifer, with short pointed horns and a sharply pointed beard is unclothed, except for boots and a pleated kilt, and has been forced down on the ground. He is holding a pitchfork, his left arm is raised to protect himself.
