Beast of Burden
Study of a donkey for Entrance to Jerusalem, also in the Garden. The donkey was done direct in plaster for bronze. Instead of molding and casting the piece in the traditional, time-consuming manner, Umlauf took a short cut. He made the armature for the donkey himself and built with plaster on that armature. Cast in bronze in 1957.
